Phil Harman - I met Phil on my first visit to Perth, visiting my daughter who lives in that wonderful city.  Phil and I would get together each time I visited Perth, and he and his lovely wife would have me over for dinner.  We would discuss the SDR technology and all the wonderful inventions he had enabled with this groundbreaking technology for ham radio.  Like others, I attended his talks in Perth.  I considered him a good friend, and I will miss seeing him.   73,  Hank Wolfla K9LZJ

Thank you for the information, Michael. I never met Phil personally,
but listened in
on many of the Teamspeak sessions on HPSDR. Phil was an exceptionally
gifted engineer, and made several significant leaps forward in SDR
with his work.
He will certainly be greatly missed.

For those wondering, Phil became a silent key on Monday the 23rd of
February 2026. His funeral service was on Friday the 6th of March. He'd
been battling MND.

Hi Michael:Sorry to hear this news. I remember attending a talk that Phil gave on SDRs at the Dayton Hamvention in 2007. His talk wad outstanding and he did a great job of unpacking various aspects of SDR technology. It was a very memorable talk. Phil was a talented RF engineer.Regards,Bob Johnk WB0VGD

I've reasearched this a bit and I don't see spread spectrum being permitted
anywhere in HF Amateurr Bands. It is permitted in UHF Amateur Bands from
what I can find.
