HamSCI is looking to deploy between 20 and 30 LF-MF-HF receiving stations (Personal Space Weather Stations) in mid-2025.  Early details are here, on the HamSCI website.

One challenge is MF-HF antenna selection.  Each station will require a receive-only antenna - with general characteristics noted below.  Are you interested in helping with the antenna selection process?  If so, navigate to the LF-MF-HF project page, look for the 'Immediate Need' section and join the newly formed Groups.IO forum.

  1. Omnidirectional reception from 0.5 to 30 MHz
  2. Less than $500 USD
  3. Reasonably small footprint (no multi-acre Beverages!)
  4. Perhaps an active (pre-amplified) antenna?
  5. Ideally, one that is commercially available (proven, reliable, well documented, 'off the shelf')

Hi Gary-

I would like to subscribe, but somehow I already have an account. Is
there a name for this specific group that will be discussing this?

Thanks and 73,
Steve
