Two items of interest hit the HamSCI radar this week (images attached)....
First, HamSCI member McKenzie Denton, KO4GLN, is the latest
QST Magazine Cover Plaque Award winner. QST readers vote on their favorite article each month, and McKenzie's article on operating the Solar Eclipse QSO Party topped the voting for April.
QST is the monthly journal of the ARRL, the National Organization for Amateur Radio (R).
Second, HamSCI 's Festival of Eclipse Ionospheric Science was mentioned in a positive light at the NSF Funded
CEDAR Conference by Dr. Joseph Westlake, the Heliophysics Division Director at NASA. One of Dr. Westlake's slides included our FoEIS logo. Many HamSCI members are in attendance from institutions such as the University of Scranton, Case Western Reserve University, MIT, West Point and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. (There are likely a few others...those jumped out at me as I looked over the agenda.) (Tnx tip and photo, W2NAF)
It is rewarding to know that HamSCI was recognized by both the amateur and professional science fraternities this week!
