My computer network now has spanned four buildings. So each building has its own managed switch and a different subnet. Unfortunately, the Grape2 is the only device at its location on the wrong subnet. I don't want to move it because it has a magnetometer that would be difficult to move.

I need the procedure to set the IP address to static. I do not see NetManager running so nmcli commands don't work. I do see /etc/dhcpcd.conf has its entries commented out. I see /etc/interfaces points to /etc/interfaces.d which is empty or hidden.

Any help appreciated.

Bill,

On the Desktop, look for the two blue up-and-down arrows on the lower right side of the taskbar. RIGHT click the arrows.

You will see Wireless and Wired Network Settings in the pop-up. Click that.

The Network Preferences window will appear. You will see Configure: and an “interface” drop-down followed by a blank drop-down.

Click the blank drop-down menu. Select eth0.

De-select “Automatically configure empty options”. You may now enter your static IPv4 address, router and DNS addresses as needed.

Click Apply and Close.

You may need to reboot to take effect.
