Building from the ground up again.

Hi,

Now that I am here in El Paso for good, having left the UK in March, I want to build up my shack again - unfortunately I had to sell or give away ALL of my kit before leaving.

Who has what kit for sale? Please be aware I am on an incredibly tight budget but want to setup for ARES/MARS/CAP as this is my main focus in Ham Radio. 

I am also hoping to be starting on the ARRL/FEMA Emergency Communications courses soon if anyone has any insight or advice.

Hello Andy

I would suggest you attend one of the club meetings on Friday nights, and keep an eye on the calendar on the HamRadioElPaso.com website for other events.  I believe K5WPH has a tailgate scheduled on Saturday, September 22, as well as a meeting tomorrow (Friday) night.  W5ES will also have an auction later this year (don't have the exact date yet).

I'll add your e-mail to my weekly e-mail newsletter, so you will be up to speed on most of the ham radio events in the area.

Lew KB5HPT is the Emergency Coordinator for El Paso county.  I"ll forward your e-mail to him so he can contact you sometime.
