Hi all,

We got a bit of money back from our security deposit on the Hamptons
house and we're planning to use it to throw an open bar happy hour on
Friday, November 15th!

Details to come, hope to see you all there!

Amanda

Well friends-

We could have given back roughly 90 bucks to full shares, 45 to half shares, and 20 to full shares as a dividend. Instead though, we thought we'd party. That's right, it's time to get the gang back together. We are taking aim at One Last Run at enjoyment with the guys and girls of summer before 2013 yields to the new year.

Next Friday some things will be different- it will be a touch cooler, a smidge more crowded, the private beach will be a bit further away, there's nowhere good to play paddleball, the sun will set earlier, Lunch will not be accessible for late afternoon lob rolls, and no one around these parts (that I know of) has successfully turned a ramshackle gravel parking lot into an insane afternoon dance floor a la Cyril's. While this may leave you yearning for the summer, keep in mind that some changes are for the better- cell phone service will be markedly improved relative to the Hamptons, you don't have to pay scandalously high cartel price points for cabs, if you run into an awkward moment in conversation this time of year you can always bring up the weekend's football games, and we will most certainly see neither hide not hair of Stuart.

I'll leave it to the girls to send out specifics on the happy hour because they did the legwork (thanks!), but the plan is to likely go to Professor Thom's. For a flat fee (covered by house funds for those of you that participated this summer) you will get a 3 hour open bar. Think of it like bribing the bouncer to skirt the line at Ruschmeyer's, except you don't actually have to pay anything and when you get in all your drinks are free*.

And the beauty of this is that, while some things may be different, many things will remain the same. Same friends, same good times, same drinking partners, same silly jokes. We can all drink to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and odds are good I'll point out that the best ships are friendships. While fashion isn't my strong suit, America oriented attire is still (and always) in style last I heard. Both red and white wine will be plentiful, and pressuring friends to consume large amounts of said beverages is encouraged. We'll have to see whether we can find a bottle of firefly to cannonball, and maybe we can find space to partake in some classic games such as beerpong and flip cup. It may not be the best venue for cards against humanity or up and down the river, but those aren't out of the question for anyone interested in pregaming. Heck, maybe we can even bring the flabongo.

As you can see the opportunities are endless. Let's all get together for One Last Run- have a wild time, form some new memories while catching up with old friends and making new ones, maybe even settling any outstanding grievances. While no one will be making a Goldberg's run in the morning, you can take some solace in the fact that, at the night's conclusion, you can go back to your apartment without worrying about having a bed to sleep in.

See you soon,
Rick

* Please note that in this case, use of the word free is slightly misleading. There are no free lunches in life. While there will be no out of pocket cost to you at this time, you effectively contributed to the night's revelry via your contribution to the house this spring.

Not deets yet but don't worry Tom, there will be a living room couch with your name on it.
