This is the skeleton that I came up with, it's rough and made by one
person so there are obvious faults. If you have some time read through
it and send some alterations.

Constitution for Student Proposing Real Options for Underutilized
Territories


Article I: Establishment

Student Proposing Real Options for Underutilized Territories shall be
hereby established on February 10, 2009. The establishment of this
organization is in compliance with the student handbook of Hamline
University as a registered student organization, and will hereby be
referred to as SPROUT.

Article II: Mission Statement

A group of community-minded students promoting environmental justice
by growing local food and practicing sustainable land stewardship.

Article III: General Task Discriptions

1. Build, maintain and improve the gardens.

2. Use the grown produce in ways determined and changeable by SPROUT.

3. Raise an awareness of gardening and community building on Hamline
campus.

4. Fundraise throughout the year.

5. Sponsor students to attend conferences and workshops.

Article IV: Membership

Membership of SPROUT will not discriminate against but not limited to
age, ancestry, color, creed, disability, ethnicity, gender identity,
marital status, national origin, physical or mental impairment,
political affiliation, race, religious affiliation, sex, sexual
orientation, social status, socioeconomic status, status with regard
to public assistance, and/or veteran status.

Article V: Volunteer Positions

1. Facilitator will exist to coordinate meetings and hold the group
accountable to an agenda determined by the group during the week
leading up to meeting.

2. Facilities Services Liaison will be responsible for keeping in
contact with Hamline University’s Facilities Services

3. Donations/Fundraising Liaison will act as primary contact for
potential donations and will head investigation and gathering of
needed materials.

4. Bank Liaison will have the responsibility of keeping track of all
donated and raised funds.

5. Seed Liasion will head the research and planning committee for the
design of the gardens.

6. HMEG Liaison will attend Hamline Midway Environmetnal Group meeting
when they are held to create and preserve communication with community
organizations and their efforts.

Article VI: Elections

Each position will be on volunteer basis and approved by complete
majority. The grand significance of these positions are for logistical
sake and do not hold true authority over other members in the group.

Article VII: Meetings

Each meeting the facilitator for the following week will be decided.
See Facilitator Description (Article V).

Article VIII: Advisor

A faculty advisor will exist and act as a resource but is not required
to attend meetings.

Article IX: Affiliations

This organization will have no affiliations though is free to act in
coalitions and receive donations and grants from outside sources.

Article X: Discrimination Policy

Discrimination will not be tolerated. Enough Said. Confronting
discrimination will be through discussion in the group until a full
understanding is had.

Article XI: Amendements

The constitution must be ratified by a group consensus.
