Announcing The Flowering Dance Project

October 4, 2012

5:00pm – 6:30pm

Intersection of Snelling and University Avenue, Saint Paul

Free!

Rae Eden Frank is a resident of the Hamline Midway neighborhood and is impacted daily by the Light Rail construction on University Avenue.  Rae will be taking her love of dance and her desire to create positive energy to the heart of the Central Corridor.

The Flowering Dance Project was developed as a way to engage with people and reclaim the area through dance and flowers, with the intention of brightening people’s moods and reducing the stress associated with the construction.

Rae will be dancing near the intersection of Snelling Avenue and University Avenue on Thursday October 4th, 2012 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.  She may be seen dancing at other times, however, part of the experience of this event is the element of surprise, and for people to witness something outside of the norm, so other occurrences will not be announced.

Rae Eden Frank lives by the moto “dare to be dorky” and is inspired by street dancers everywhere.  The Flowering Dance Project is supported by Irrigate.  Flowers will be provided by the Garden of Eva Florist.

Irrigate is an artist-led creative placemaking initiative spanning the six miles of the Central Corridor Light Rail line in Saint Paul during the years of its construction. Artists collaborate with businesses, organizations and community groups to change the landscape of the corridor with color, art, surprise, creativity and fun. Irrigate is a partnership between the City of Saint Paul, Twin Cities Local Initiatives Support Corporation and Springboard for the Arts.
