Greetings birders,

The following is some details and a link to an online survey about the future of the Hamilton Naturalists' Club. You do not need to be a member to fill it out, as we're seeking feedback for all community members who have interacted with the club through our events, projects, and initiatives.

What follows here is details about the survey and a link. It is not a short survey as we're seeking clear, detailed community feedback. This helps the board of the club in making decisions in the future that would affect the club and surrounding community.

If you have questions feel free to reach out and I'll try to direct you to the correct person.

The Hamilton Naturalists’ Club (HNC) is a non-profit organization with over 300 members dedicated to the study, appreciation, and conservation of our wild plants and animals. The Club traces its history to the founding of the Hamilton Bird Protection Society in 1919. Early Club achievements include the designation of Cootes Paradise as a nature reserve in 1927 and the organization of 34,000 children in Junior Audubon Clubs across Canada during the 1930s. The HNC celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019.

The HNC is developing a strategic plan to guide the HNC’s actions and activities over the next five years. This survey is part of the strategic planning process that will help to:

  • Ensure HNC Staff, Board and membership are aligned on the HNC’s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Confirm existing priorities and/or set new priorities that will inform future HNC activities and actions.

This survey is designed to collect your feedback on the HNC’s mission, goals, and overall activities to better inform future directions. The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You can navigate the survey by pressing “Previous” or “Next” at the bottom of each slide.

After finishing the survey, you will have the opportunity to add your name in a draw for a prize of up to $200.
