The following books on where to find birds are for sale or pick-up.  All monetary payments will be donated to Hamilton Naturalists’ Club.

Richard Cashor Taylor A Birder’s Guide to Southeastern Arizona ABA 2005 374 pp.

Price $5.00 minimum.  This is an excellent guide to sites that produce species not seen elsewhere in the U.S.A.

John R. Mather Where to watch birds in Yorkshire Helm 1998 332 pp.

Donation or free.  A good companion if you are holidaying in the north of England.

Ernest Garcia and Andrew Paterson Where to watch birds: Southern and Western Spain Helm 1994 358 pp.

Spain is at the most south-westerly part of the paleoarctic bird region and has species not found elsewhere in Europe or most easily seen here.

Gerard Gorman Where to watch birds in Eastern Europe Hamlyn 1994 214 pp.

We used this to good effect in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.  It also covers Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria, with single pages on countries that you would not be wise to visit currently.

Hanne & Jens Eriksen, Panadda & Dave E. Sargeant Birdwatching Guide to Oman Al Roya Publishing 2001 256 pp.

We used this one year after it was published and by then some roads had changed!  If you go, you need to speak Arabic or have an Arabic speaker.  One gets a mix of Indian and paleoarctic species.

Michael Gallagher & Martin W. Woodcock The Birds of Oman Quartet Books 1980 310 pp.

Price $5.00. This is a coffee table book – not one to carry in the field!
