Last February we took a trip to Jamaica to escape the winter and see the wonderful diversity of endemics on the island.
We hooked up with the tour listed at this website and were treated to a spectacular vacation of birding and learning about the local culture and sampling the island endemic food.
Tourism has been struggling in Jamaica since COVID and we were the first 6 day trip to be booked in three years. We had the good fortune of being the only ones on the trip and were therefore treated to being led by three excellen guides.
We were able to see all 31 species of endemics.
The accommodations were all spectacular.
Wolde (the owner) is very involved in local habitat restoration and supporting local endeavours. We brought school supplies down for a local school and were able to deliver them ourselves and see the hard work of the people there and the gratefulness that they showed receiving our donation.
A very professional organization run with the utmost in safety. The price was also super reasonable for the quality that was provided.
I am passing their website along as they continue to struggle with tourism in the country. For anyone looking to get away this winter this is highly recommended.
