Hi all
It seems that a correction of identity of the jaeger I mentioned yesterday as a juvenile Parasitic Jaeger, has now been corrected to be a Pomarine Jaeger. Who knew that one could possibly be seen in July, not me! I was at the jaeger watch again today and was informed by the other photographer had clearer images that showed the elongated center tail faithers were lobed and rounded , not pointed as in Parasitic, and with the larger head and thicker bill combined with the slower flight and the large amount of white under wing area made this a first ever July Pomarine Jaeger. I felt when I first saw this jaeger that it was a large bird. They are a very tricky species to identify with any certainty.
