Do you feel unsafe about ravelling to the USA and Mexico? You could try birding in the West Indies. The regional guide list over 500 species and many are island endemics. There five endemic bird families with four in the Dominican Republic alone.
My wife and I have undertaken birding trips to Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rica and Dominican Republic, Lesser Antilles, and Abaco in the Bahamas. After each trip, I have written a report, and I am finishing a consolidated report (excluding the species list for each trip). I shall be willing to share upon request the completed document with those who have a serious intent on visiting the West Indies region. During these trips we have seen over 110 island endemics. I can also share species list separately for specific countries.
