January Newsletter

Thank you for signing up to learn more about Stop Fitzhugh Concert Venue. The proposed 5,000-seat outdoor concert and entertainment venue has the potential to harm Barton Creek, bring traffic, noise and light pollution to nearby communities.

Mark your calendars:

Monday, January 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM

Dripping Springs Ranch Park

1042 Event Center Drive Dripping Springs, Texas 78620

TCEQ meeting reminder:

We have a public hearing date! Based on the request of Senator Donna Campbell, TCEQ has set a date for a public meeting on January 29, 2024, to discuss the water quality land application permit submitted by Blizexas, LLC.

Attending the January 29 Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) public meeting in person is one of the most effective ways to share your concerns with the state officials who will play a deciding role in whether this ill-conceived concert venue moves forward or not. This provides a great opportunity to demonstrate the groundswell of support for protecting our community and to share your concerns about disposal, runoff, surface water and groundwater issues related to the proposed venue.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  • Wear green and show up early!
  • Bring your neighbors and friends to the meeting.
  • Print out the Stop Fitzhugh Concert Venue poster before the meeting.

Winter Weather Tips

Stay safe during the cold, winter months! Fitzhugh Road is a dark and winding road that can become increasingly dangerous with more traffic. In fact, Fitzhugh Concert Venue would add additional traffic on the already busy Hamilton Pool, Trautwein and Crumley Ranch Roads leading to problematic delays.

To stay safe:

  • Slow down and stay alert in residential neighborhoods.
  • Watch for pedestrians crossing the street.
  • Concentrate on your surroundings.
  • Signal early before lane changes in icy conditions.
  • Pump your brakes when needing to stop.
  • Keep plenty of distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
  • Turn the wheel in the direction of the skid if you begin to do so.

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a happy new year! We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and the beginning of 2024 thus far. We are appreciative of your support for our coalition and are looking forward to keeping you updated throughout the year.
