April Update

Thank you for signing up to learn more about Stop Fitzhugh Concert Venue. The proposed 5,000-seat outdoor concert and entertainment venue has the potential to harm Barton Creek, bring traffic, noise and light pollution to nearby communities.

Fitzhugh Neighbors Benefit Concert

ROBERT EARL KEEN will perform a special post-retirement benefit concert on May 18 at Ranch Park in Dripping Springs, also featuring Grammy nominees, singer-songwriters Tony Kamen and Kym Warner. The benefit concert will feature a silent auction, food and drinks. Tickets are on sale now via the Fitzhugh Neighbors webpage.

Earth Day

Earth Day is April 22! As we celebrate the beauty of our planet, we should remember our commitment to protecting its precious ecosystems, including wildlife and their habitats.

The proposed concert venue would threaten to disrupt the delicate balance of nature in the region. Local wildlife, including threatened and endangered species, would be disturbed by the introduction of noise pollution. According to National Geographic, sound can have detrimental effects on their well-being, impacting their ability to navigate, find food, attract mates and avoid predators - all essential activities for survival.

By opposing the proposed Fitzhugh Concert Venue, we’re not only protecting the habitats of these creatures but also safeguarding the natural soundscape that is crucial to their survival and our well-being.

Texas Wildflowers

As the weather begins to warm, we hope you all are enjoying the wildflowers popping up around central Texas!

Experts at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center are predicting the 2024 wildflower season to be a banner year of blooms.

“On a scale from one to 10, this year looks like it could be an eight, for bluebonnets in particular, if not even better,” says Andrea DeLong-Amaya, the Center’s Director of Horticulture. “This fall and winter we’ve enjoyed adequate rainfall that’s been well-spaced, which is really key to wildflower development.”
