The open house for Travis County is tomorrow evening, 5:30 to 8 pm, at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Rd., Austin

I hope several people will go and OPPOSE ALTOGETHER the "improvements" to HPR west of  RM12 (divided highway? I think not), and the perennial Reimers-Peacock "road to nowhere" that benefits no residents (unless you suddenly have to jet from Bert and Ernies to Spicewood and 5 extra minutes makes the difference).

AUSTC28 -- "improve" HPR, from the Pedernales to RM12, to minor arterial divided. Year 2018.
AUSTC66 -- connects SH71 to HPR, by new road over Reimers-Peacock. Year: 2019.

On the plus side, they want to do something to HPR east of 12. Shoulders would be nice. Can they improve safety without making a  superhighway out of it?
AUSTC29 -- improve to MAD-2

The nature of these open houses, as I understand it, is you go there and push for for projects in your neighborhood. But we (many of us) want to do the opposite -- we want to GIVE AWAY our projects. I would look for other people in Travis County desperate for these dollars and make sure they know that lots of residents along HPR do NOT want any of these projects.

Sorry I cannot be there tomorrow.

Good luck!

Hugh

Kahlynn,

Thank you for helping us get the information out to the city personnel and Bee Cave residents about the CAMPO meetings. Our group is helping with public involvement and outreach for the CAMPO 2040 Plan. CAMPO is the agency that approves the use of federal funds for transportation projects in our region. They are holding public meetings to collect input on transportation priorities in the area for the long range plan and changes to the short range Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about both programs, share comments, and participate in a budgeting exercise. I have attached the meeting flyer with the dates, locations and times for you to share with anyone that you think may be interested.

Thank you for your time and please let me know if you need any additional information.

Sincerely,

Cathy Howell

I am going to try to get there at about. I am wondering if one can wander in late at 6:30 and speak or does have to be there when it first opens up to sign up.

In past experience, there is little opportunity for public comment at these "open house" formats. That said, I think it is very important to make your comments known, bring them in writing to the meeting. You can send comments directly to CAMPO Board, Staff and also Travis County Commissioners and TNR Dept. CAMPO also has something called a "mind-mixer" on their website that is their attempt at gathering public input.
