Dear owners of Java Hamcrest,

I like your project a lot.
I've been promoting and using it for over a decade in my professional career.
However, for over a year, there seems to be no activity on the project anymore, no response to PRs.
There are people such as myself, eager to contribute, yet dead in the water because nobody that actually has permissions to merge to the project is listening.
Please consider appointing new contributors such that we can merge PRs again and revive this project.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter et al,

After a 3 year hiatus, I'm looking to see if I can address some outstanding issues and look to revive things with Hamcrest. Keep an eye out :-)

Cheers,
Joe

Hey everyone,

I'm working with the Java side of hamcrest almost daily in the Jenkins project. We make heavy use of hamcrest, in thousands of tests and hundreds of repositories.
Except the couple of commits from December '22, there's been no activity in merging PRs in over a year.

I would like to contribute a and apply some maintenance and enhancements to make contributor's life easier, but the low activity disheartened me, unfortunately.
I would rather not see my PRs hanging in the void, like the rest of them.

@Joe and other project maintainers, is there still interest and enough maintainer motivation to review and integrate PRs?
I wouldn't mind stepping in and doing some maintenance to projects our community uses so frequently.

Best regards,
Alexander Brandes

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for reaching out. A year later, I'm finally responding. For some reason, the message never made it to my inbox.

Thanks for your interest. If you're still about, I'd be happy to discuss ways you canhgelp you. I'm about to respond with another message to this group about kicking of new releases of Hamcrest.

Cheers,
Joe
