Software Defined Radio

You will need to have your computer or tablet to be able to check into a Google Meet where we will be demo'ing an SDR radio.  I will send the URL on hamc...@googlegroups.com on Thursday.  I will also announce it over the air at the beginning of the session. 

We will explore the world of Software Defined Radio receivers that you can have on your computer at no cost.  You will be able to explore the world of HF radio, VHF/UHF, and Satellite. 
You have total control of the receiver.  You will not affect anyone else that may be using it and they will not affect you.  In fact, you won’t even know anyone else is using it. 

What is it good for? 
1. Gives you the opportunity to hear what goes on, on HF.  You can hear POTA, various nets,
    Hurricane Net, special event stations, traffic nets.  You can also hear various foreign
    broadcast stations, aircraft flying overseas, and more. 
2. Listen to stations overseas and hear what HF, VHF, and UHF repeaters sound like in foreign
    countries. 
3. If you already have an HF radio, SDR will help you hear stations you are having trouble
    hearing.  Great for POTA, contests, or even just rag chewing.
