Noblesville Repeater ARRL news and IRLP

As you probably already know, IRLP and ARRL news are currently not functioning on the Noblesville repeater. Mike Alley, W9MSK and I met with Hamilton Co. IT department to discuss the situation.
We learned that Hamilton Co. has been doing some restructuring of some of the IT lines and ours is one of them.  They will be putting us on a different network which will necessitate changing a couple of static IP addresses. They are working at getting us those new addresses.  Then, Mike will work on the Raspberry Pi at the repeater to change the Pi's IP addresses to the new ones.  The IT person will be with him, so they need to coordinate a day and time to do this.  Hopefully, it will happen this coming week, but it depends on people's schedules.

Meanwhile, please do not try to use IRLP as it will go ahead and connect to the remote repeater you call up, but you won't hear any audio back.  So, you won't know that you are actually connected, but you are.
You won't hear anything from the remote repeater, but they will hear our repeater when you key up.
If you hear anyone attempting to connect via IRLP, please advise them of the situation, and make sure they enter 73 to disconnect from the remote repeater.  Again, you won't hear any confirmation that it has disconnected, but it does.

For ARRL news, we will have to still do it via mic-to-speaker until things are back up and running normally.  Thank you for your patience and a big thank you to Hamilton Co. IT department for letting us be on the network.

73,

John, W9KD
