Thursday October 16, at 8:00 pm
(Hortonville is about half-way between Westfield and Sheridan in
Hamilton Co.)
Net control: John, W9KD
Net Assistant: Dan, WD9DAN
Topic: “How’s My Signal” and Round Table Discussion
Everyone always wonders how well they are getting into the
repeater.
There are three main aspects to your FM signal quality:
1. Signal strength
2. Signal deviation
3. Audio level
We will explore the importance of each aspect and evaluate your signal into the repeater. Then, we will advise what you can do, immediately, to ensure you have your best possible signal into the repeater.
Round Table Discussion:
After we have helped you to achieve your best signal, you can tell us a
bit of your recent ham radio activity and highlight any particularly
interesting things.
Net begins with check-in’s, then:
o Area announcements
o Topic presentation – “How’s My Signal?”
followed by Round Table Discussion
o Buy/sell/swap
At the end of the net, a few of us will stand
by to answer any ham radio related question you may have. When you ask a question, we will ask “Who knows what about that topic?” …
and someone will jump in with answers.
Hope to hear you this Thursday!
