Aek, I wanted to look into PurSelector but the website seems to be down. When was the last time you visited it? Hopefully that project is not dead. One thing I wanted to do first was check the license that PurSelector uses.

Aek,

Do you have a reference for the Ant selector requirements? I did some quick searches for how Ant pattern selector/matching should be implemented and haven't had much luck. I have been talking to the Phing developers and think that I might try to adapt their Ant pattern code for use in Halo (probably by way of an external library so I do not have to release Halo under LGPL) but before I go down that road I want to make sure that it is compatible with Ant ... or at the very least, the rules that you've been using to date.

It's seems that php-pop.org site it's down. take a look into a class
hole-AntPathMatcher to have the PurSelector code. I get the code of
PurSelector match method to minimize the dependency of that library, I
see now that it's releassed under BSD licence.
Docs about Ant Style patterns can be found here http://ant.apache.org/manual/dirtasks.html
