I'm looking for a few LP2985 voltage regulators:

https://www.digikey.ca/short/h1prt1f2

but shipping is $8 on a $3 order.

So I would like to leech on to your > $100 order which has free shipping.

Follow up to this...  I would be interested in maybe setting up a regularly scheduled "buying cooperative".  I find that the options are limited when you are making small orders of components.  Is there enough interest in setting something up that we could do regular orders?

Thanks!

Good question, Doug. Let's get some answers to it!

Even "no" would be worth hearing.

But my answer is "yes, I have interest in some regular order infrastructure".

It would be a good service HMS could provide to the community, for that matter. Encourage get-togethers, knowledge sharing, collaboration, etc.

I wouldn't expect others to do this but I'd be happy as well to order "extras" to make sure we have a reasonable minimum order.  (I might be a bit of a parts horder)

I certainly subscribe to the idea of "why buy one, when you can buy 10 for just a bit more" haha. I'll take a look around Digikey and see if there is anything I've been thinking about getting. I usually procrastinate too much and end up buying things quickly ahead of a project, but with a bit of planning the group-purchases can come in handy for saving a bit of money.

Do we have any preference in who provides the best products/prices?  Digikey? Mouser?  Are there any others I'm missing?  If we decide on the vendor that we can schedule a quarterly deadline for the order and figure out where/when we meet to distribute!  My guess would be we should plan it around a meeting time and just do it before or after the meetup!
