Hi everyone,

It looks like Go Club is a no-go again. The university is closed due to the weather. Hopefully we will have better luck next week.

Hi Scott do you have a keycard to open the door? we could still have the go club... and ya let's think about shifting it to some other place in the future... maybe with drinks etc...

Hi Theo,

I do have a keycard. That being said, I have noticed that building security has been more strict lately. For example, they sometimes come around on weekends and holidays/snowdays to check if everyone in the building has a keycard that can open the main door. So it's possible we'd get kicked out.

Best,
Scott

Be sure to explain it's a sanctioned campus organization (at least it was last year).... that should help.  I wonder who is "in charge" of the student org now that Ethan has left.

Hi David,

I once organized an event in the Dunn building over the weekend. We had a room booked (with help from the science outreach office no less) but the security guard told me that we weren't allowed into the building since we didn't book "after hours access" for our attendees. (They also told me that I wasn't allowed into the room, since I didn't have after hours access to that room, despite having booked the room...) I eventually escalated it to someone who was sympathetic and made an exception after pleasing for a while. This was last summer and I'm still very cautious as a result. It seems that simply having an approved event isn't enough for after hours access in the eyes of campus security. If Ethan has already worked this out, then it should be fine.

Best,
Scott

In any case if Scott or somebody with card can open the door today, I would come... Let me know... I'm not worried about security esp. since they already know we meet Mondays...
