--Hello everyone!
We're super excited to invite you all to our honey extraction workshop this weekend!
Honey extraction workshop
When: Sunday, 14 Aug 2022 at 2PM.
Where: 31 Roupen Court, Hammonds Plains
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1CqwL-CmVdyW19mxjyqhijpzoyfg&usp=sharing
We will be extracting several frames from the HHBS hive. Bring your own clean, 250 ml jars (e.g., Mason jars, but clean jam jars are also fine) if you want a bit of the honey to taste and share with your family. Also be prepared for a bit of a work out since the extractors are hand cranked. We will likely go over alternative methods of decapping (e.g., scratching, heat gun, etc.)
This could also be an opportunity for people who just have a few frames of their own to extract. (Using an extractor is only efficient with at least about a dozen frames to do at a time.) Again, bring your own bottles if you plan to extract your own honey.
The event will be held rain or shine, since we can hide from the elements in the garage.
Hope to see you all there!Halifax Honey Bee Society 🐝--
