my "Piano Gaucho" tape is out now on No Rent Records. this release captures a live concert at Elastic Arts (Chicago) on their mini grand piano, and a session at Silent Barn (Brooklyn) on one of my piano soundboards. The packaging is a beautiful 4-panel foldout, and it's an amazing item to hold - i couldn't be happier. They have a bunch of killer new tapes which you should get. You can check it out at:

what a horrible week / month / year this has been. by April i was already calling it the best year of my life and the worst. now i'm mourning friends who have died, angered by police assaults at Standing Rock and evictions of DIY venues (neither of whom pose a risk to the world, just a challenge to the status quo). i am stunned by the extreme political shift and rise of nazi assholes, who lost the popular vote but can act as if they have a mandate and completely undo the few good things that have happened politically in the last 8 years.
so i'm just trying to keep my head up. i'm focusing on moving forward with progressive change in my headspace/ workspace/ neighborhood, honor those we've lost, and focus on the important things in life - friends, community, engagement

i'm currently working on some recordings from my residency at Sonoscopia (Porto) earlier this year, which i'm thinking of calling "Música de Libertação" and i hope to do some sessions with friends in the coming months
i don't have much planned for next year, but i'll let you know when things solidify. talking to some people about some gigs in the region but it's impossible to tour anymore
one thing to definitely note on your calendars: Ende Tymes 7 will be April 27-30 2017. i'm expanding the staff list and need help. please email ende...@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering.
