Hello,
This is the list of questions for the survey. I tried to keep them as
short as possible and no question is required.
There are two survey forms, one for encoders/halalan staff and a
separate one for voters. Both surveys also tries to check the
respondent's background because candidates, halalan staff, and people
with dev experience tend to have certain biases when evaluating
Halalan. :D
The voter's goal is to quickly login, choose the candidates he wants
to vote for, and logout. So the questions are centered around his
voting habits which we can use in redesigning the ballot.
=============================
FOR VOTERS
=============================
How do you remember which candidates you want to vote for?
• I memorize all of them.
• I bring a codigo or list of the people I want to vote for.
• When I see their names listed, I remember them.
• Other ___________
If you don’t know who to vote for (or can’t complete the required # of
candidates) in a certain position, what do you do?
• I choose abstain.
• I look at the names listed and pick someone else.
• This doesn’t happen to me. I always know who to vote for all
positions.
• Other ___________
For the staff/volunteers, their concerns are the encoding of election
info so the questions are about trying to catch "inconvenient" steps
or repetitive tasks which we can (hopefully) eliminate in the next
version of Halalan.
===========================================
FOR HALALAN STAFF/VOLUNTEERS/ENCODERS
===========================================
In what format does the election info (i.e. list of candidates, list
of parties, list of positions) come in?
• Editable word document/text document
• Editable spreadsheet/table
• Fixed/uneditable (e.g. PDF, image scan)
Can this format be directly encoded into Halalan? (i.e. Is it a simple
copy-paste or upload file button to encode the whole list?) Yes/No
If not, what extra steps do you have to do before they can be encoded?
• Convert to different file format
• Separate individual candidates
• Group candidates into parties or positions
• Correct misspellings
• More _________
What steps in the encoding did you find yourself doing over and over
again?
Were there other inconveniences in encoding that you weren’t able to
discuss above?
What part of the encoding process was a pleasant task for you? Why did
you like this step over the others?
==========================
FOR BOTH GROUPS
==========================
Do you have a role or experience in any of the following (check as
many as is applicable to you)
• I am a member of a campaign team/I ran for office
• I have a background in application design/development/programming
• I am a member/volunteer of the Halalan team/UnPLUG
• I was a staff/watcher/volunteer during the election
• I was an incumbent member of the student council during the last
election
Do you have any other complaints, observations, suggestions, or
election stories you’d like to share with us at Halalan?
If there are no violent reactions, we can make a survey form and maybe
ask for help from the student council in getting respondents for the
voters part.
Until when should we wait for feedback from our group's members before
releasing the survey?
