Next Release: 1.6.0?

Hello,

I already said that I prefer for the next release to be 2.0.0 but
since we have some notable changes in develop [1], I think it will be
worthwhile to release another one before 2.0.0. If you have any
features that you want to include in 1.6.0, just reply here. If after
one week (around March 5) there are no replies for inclusion of
features, I will open a release branch according to our reference
workflow [2] and only bug fixes will be accepted.

Thoughts?

Hello Wali,

I mentioned before that it is nice to have an external API for voting results. That way other apps can integrate to view the results (for example, a Wordpress widget that can display a pie chart of the results).

I can head the development for this one, if you think the idea is good.

Yup. This is a nice feature. Good presentation of results can
enhance the usage of Halalan. Unfortunately, this is a big feature to
include in 1.6.0 so I suggest to consider this as "include when ready
feature".

Sure. Go ahead. Just ask the group if you need some information
regarding how Halalan works.

Yey! I like this idea too. :D

Very useful for later, when we hold mock elections to increase publicity for Halalan (eg "Anong mas mabilis from SC to Math, Toki or Ikot?" "Wondergirls vs SNSD vs 2NE1" "Kim Chiu-Gerald vs Xian Lim") and people can make plugins to display the results in their blog or something.


As for Waldy's original question, I can't think of any minor updates to be included in 1.6.x. :(

Release branch is now up [1] for our testing and fixing pleasure.
Let's release this after one week if there are no more bugs found.

Halalan 1.6.0 is now released [1]!

In a related note, I will put up a "developer notes" wiki in our
Google Code when I have the time so we can have a centralized page
where all our policies and such are saved.
