SURAH 49 –Al Hujurat(The Chambers)

Respectful behavior to the Leader, in manner,

Voice, and demeanour, are the bonds and cement

Of an organized community. The whispers

Of rumours should be tested, and selfish impatience

Should be curbed to discipline. All quarrels

Should be composed, if necessary by the force

Of the community, but with perfect

Fairness and justice. Ridicule, taunts,

And biting words, should be avoided

In presence or in absence. Suspicion

And spying are unworthy of men who believe.

All men are descended from one pair:

Their honour depends, not on race, but

On righteousness. Faith is not a matter

Of words, but of accepting Allah’s Will

And striving in His Cause. The coming

Into Islam confers no favour on others,

But is itself a favour and a privilege,

A guidance for those who are true and sincere.

 

தலைவருக்கு மரியாதைக்குரிய நடத்தை,

குரல் மற்றும் அணுகுமுறை, பத்திரங்கள் மற்றும் சிமெண்ட் ஆகும்

A community must show its respect to its Leader in all forms of behavior: quarrels are unseemly and should be composed: manners spring from morales; and mutual respect and confidence are a duty and a privilege in Islam.

49:1-O ye who believe! put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Apostle: But fear Allah: for Allah is He who hears and knows all things. 4919

49:1. 49:2. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! (நபி பேசும்பொழுது) நபியுடைய சப்தத்திற்கு மேல் உங்கள் சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தாதீர்கள். மேலும், உங்களுக்குள் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவருடன் கூச்சலிட்டுச் சப்தமாகப் பேசுவதைப் போல், அவரிடம் சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தி நீங்கள் கூச்சலிட்டுப் பேசாதீர்கள். இதன் காரணமாக உங்கள் நன்மைகள் எல்லாம் அழிந்துவிடக்கூடும். 49:2-O ye who believe! raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet nor speak aloud to him in talk as ye may speak aloud to one another lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not. 4920 4921

49:2. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! (நபி பேசும்பொழுது) நபியுடைய சப்தத்திற்கு மேல் உங்கள் சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தாதீர்கள். மேலும், உங்களுக்குள் ஒருவர் மற்றொருவருடன் கூச்சலிட்டுச் சப்தமாகப் பேசுவதைப் போல், அவரிடம் சப்தத்தை உயர்த்தி நீங்கள் கூச்சலிட்டுப் பேசாதீர்கள். இதன் காரணமாக உங்கள் நன்மைகள் எல்லாம் அழிந்துவிடக்கூடும். 49:3-Those that lower their voice in the presence of Allah's Apostle their hearts has Allah tested for piety: for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 4922

49:3. எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதரின் முன்பாக (மரியாதைக்காகத்) தங்கள் சப்தத்தைத் தாழ்த்திக் கொள்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்களை நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் சோதனை செய்து இறையச்சத்திற்கு எடுத்துக் கொண்டான். அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும் உண்டு; மகத்தான கூலியும் உண்டு.

49:4-Those who shout out to thee from without the Inner Apartments most of them lack understanding. 4923

49:4. (நபியே!) எவர்கள் (நீர் வசித்திருக்கும்) அறைக்கு முன்பாக நின்று கொண்டு உம்மை(க் கூச்சலிட்டு)ச் சப்தமிட்டு அழைக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானவர்கள் (மார்க்கத்தை) விளங்காதவர்களே!

49:5-If only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them it would be best for them: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.

49:5. (உமது அறையிலிருந்து) நீர் வெளிப்பட்டு அவர்களிடம் நீர் வரும் வரை அவர்கள் பொறுத்திருந்தால், அது அவர்களுக்கு எவ்வளவோ நன்றாக இருந்திருக்கும். அல்லாஹ் மிக மன்னிப்பவன், கருணையுடையவன் ஆவான்.

49:6-O ye who believe! if a wicked person comes to you with any news ascertain the truth lest ye harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. 4924

49:6. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! ஒரு விஷமி உங்களிடம் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கொண்டுவந்தால், (அதன் உண்மையை அறியும் பொருட்டு அதைத்) தீர்க்க விசாரணை செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள். (இல்லையெனில், அவனுடைய சொல்லை நம்பி) அறியாமையால் ஒரு கூட்டத்திற்கு நீங்கள் தீங்கிழைத்து விட்டுப் பின்னர், நீங்கள் செய்தவற்றைப் பற்றி நீங்களே துக்கித்துக் கவலைப்படும்படியும் நேர்ந்துவிடும்.

49:7-And know that among you is Allah's Apostle: were he in many matters to follow your (wishes) ye would certainly fall into misfortune: but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has made it beautiful in your hearts and He has made hateful to you unbelief wickedness and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness 4925 4926

49:7. (நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே!) நிச்சயமாக உங்களிடம் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய தூதர் இருக்கிறார். பல விஷயங்களில் அவர் உங்களுக்கு கட்டுப்படுவதென்றால், நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள்தான் கஷ்டத்திற்குள்ளாகி விடுவீர்கள் என்பதை நீங்கள் உறுதியாக அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். ஆயினும், அல்லாஹ் நம்பிக்கையின் மீதே உங்களுக்கு அன்பைக் கொடுத்து, உங்கள் உள்ளங்களிலும் அதையே அழகாக்கியும் வைத்தான். மேலும், நிராகரிப்பையும், பாவத்தையும், மாறு செய்வதையும் உங்களுக்கு வெறுப்பாகவும் ஆக்கிவைத்தான் இத்தகையவர்கள்தான் நேரான வழியில் இருக்கின்றனர்.

49:8-A grace and favor from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

49:8. (மிகச்சிறந்த இத்தன்மைகளை அடைவது) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அருளும், (அவனுடைய) கிருபையுமாகும். அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கறிந்தவன், ஞானமுடையவன் ஆவான்.

49:9-If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies then make peace between them with justice and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just). 4927

49:9. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களிலுள்ள இரு வகுப்பார் தங்களுக்குள் சச்சரவு செய்து கொண்டால், அவர்களை சமாதானப்படுத்தி விடுங்கள். அவர்களில் ஒரு வகுப்பார், மற்றொரு வகுப்பாரின் மீது வரம்பு மீறி அநியாயம் செய்தால், அநியாயம் செய்தவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளையின் பக்கம் வரும் வரை, அவர்களிடம் நீங்கள் போர் செய்யுங்கள். அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையின் பக்கம்) திரும்பிவிட்டால், நியாயமான முறையில் அவ்விரு வகுப்பார்களுக்கிடையே சமாதானம் செய்து, நீதமாகத் தீர்ப்பளியுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீதி செய்பவர்களை நேசிக்கிறான்.

49:10-The believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers: And fear Allah that ye may receive Mercy. 4928

49:10. நிச்சயமாக நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் சகோதரர்களே! ஆகவே, உங்கள் சகோதரர்களுக்கிடையில் ஒழுங்கை(யும் சமாதானத்தையும்) நிலை நிறுத்துங்கள். (இதில்) அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்து நடங்கள். (இதன் காரணமாக) அவனுடைய அருளை நீங்கள் அடைவீர்கள்.

49:11-O ye who believe! let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (Indeed) doing wrong. 4929 4930

49:11. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! எந்த ஆண்களும் மற்றெந்த ஆண்களையும் பரிகாசம் செய்யவேண்டாம். அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களைவிட மேலானவர்களாக இருக்கலாம். அவ்வாறே எந்தப் பெண்களும் மற்ற எந்தப் பெண்களையும் (பரிகாசம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.) அவர்கள் (பரிகாசம் செய்யும்) இவர்களைவிட மேலானவர்களாக இருக்கலாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் ஒருவரை இழிவாகக் கருதி குறை கூறவேண்டாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு(த் தீய) பட்டப் பெயர் சூட்ட வேண்டாம். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டதன் பின்னர், கெட்ட பெயர் சூட்டுவது மகா கெட்ட (பாவமான)தாகும். எவர்கள் (இவற்றிலிருந்து) விலகிக் கொள்ளவில்லையோ அவர்கள்தான் (வரம்பு மீறிய) அநியாயக்காரர்கள்.

49:12-O ye who believe! avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: and spy not on each other nor speak ill of each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay ye would abhor it...but fear Allah: for Allah is Oft-Returning Most Merciful. 4931 4931 4932

49:12. நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! அதிகமான சந்தேகங்களிலிருந்து நீங்கள் விலகிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாகச் சந்தேகங்களில் சில பாவமானவையாக இருக்கின்றன. (எவருடைய குற்றத்தையும்) நீங்கள் துருவித்துருவி விசாரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டாம். உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றெவரையும் புறம் பேசவேண்டாம். உங்களில் எவனும் தன் இறந்த சகோதரனின் மாமிசத்தைப் புசிக்க விரும்புவானா? அதை நீங்கள் வெறுப்பீர்களே! (புறம் பேசுவதும் அவ்வாறே. இவ்விஷயங்களில்) அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயந்துகொள்ளுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (பாவத்திலிருந்து விலகுபவர்களை) அங்கீகரிப்பவன், கருணையுடையவன் ஆவான்.

49:13-O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). 4933

49:13. மனிதர்களே! உங்கள் அனைவரையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் ஒரேஓர் ஆண், ஒரேஓர் பெண்ணிலிருந்துதான் படைத்தோம். பின்னர், ஒருவர் மற்றவரை அறிந்துகொள்ளும் பொருட்டு, உங்களைக் கிளைகளாகவும் கோத்திரங்களாகவும் ஆக்கினோம். (ஆதலால், உங்களில் ஒருவர் மற்றவரைவிட மேலானவர் என்று பெருமை பேசாதீர்கள்.) எனினும், உங்களில் எவர் இறையச்சம் உடையவராக இருக்கிறாரோ, அவர்தான் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் நிச்சயமாக மிக கண்ணியமானவர். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (அனைத்தையும்) நன்கறிந்தவன், நன்கு தெரிந்தவன் ஆவான்.

49:14-The desert Arabs say "We believe." Say "Ye have no faith; but ye (only) say `We have submitted our wills to Allah.' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Apostle He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful." 4934 4935

49:14. (நபியே!) நாட்டுப்புறத்து அரபிகளில் பலர், தாங்களும் நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எனக் கூறுகின்றனர். (அவர்களை நோக்கி) நீர் கூறுவீராக: ‘‘நீங்கள் உங்களை நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எனக் கூறாதீர்கள். ஏனென்றால், நம்பிக்கை உங்கள் உள்ளங்களில் நுழையவே இல்லை. ஆயினும், (வெளிப்படையாக) வழிபடுபவர்கள் என்று (உங்களை) நீங்கள் கூறிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். எனினும், மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடப்பீர்களாயின், உங்கள் நன்மைகளில், எதையும் அவன் உங்களுக்குக் குறைத்து விடமாட்டான். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மிக்க மன்னிப்பவன் கருணையுடையவன் ஆவான்.''

49:15-Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Apostle and have never since doubted but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

49:15. (உண்மையான) நம்பிக்கையாளர்கள் எவர்களென்றால், அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையும், அவனுடைய தூதரையும் மெய்யாகவே நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, பின்னர் எவ்வித சந்தேகமும் கொள்ளாது, அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் தங்கள் உயிரையும் பொருளையும் தியாகம் செய்து போர் புரிவார்கள். இவர்கள்தான் (தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையில்) உண்மையானவர்கள்.

49:16-Say: "what! Will ye instruct Allah about your Religion?" but Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth: He has full knowledge of all things. 4936

49:16. (நபியே!) கூறுவீராக: (‘‘நீங்கள் மார்க்கத்தைப் பின்பற்றி நடப்பவர்கள் என்று) உங்கள் வழிபாட்டை(யும், பக்தியையும்) நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறீர்களா? அல்லாஹ்வோ வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் உள்ளவற்றை அறிந்தவன். (தவிர, மற்ற) எல்லா பொருள்களையுமே அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தவன்.''

49:17-They impress on thee as favor that they have embraced Islam. Say "Count not your Islam as a favor upon me: Nay Allah has conferred a favor upon you that He has guided you to the Faith if ye be true and sincere. 4937

49:17. (நபியே!) அவர்கள் இஸ்லாமில் சேர்ந்ததன் காரணமாக உம்மீது உபகாரம் செய்து விட்டதாக கருதுகின்றனர். (நபியே!) கூறுவீராக: ‘‘நீங்கள் இஸ்லாமில் சேர்ந்ததனால் என்மீது உபகாரம் செய்து விட்டதாக எண்ணாதீர்கள். மாறாக, நீங்கள் நம்பிக்கையாளர்களாக ஆகும்படி செய்ததன் காரணமாக அல்லாஹ்தான் உங்கள் மீது உபகாரம் செய்திருக்கிறான். நீங்கள் (உங்கள் நம்பிக்கையில்) உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் (இதை நன்கறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள்).''

49:18-"Verily Allah knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth: and Allah sees well all that ye do." 4938

49:18. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வானங்களிலும் பூமியிலும் மறைந்திருப்பவற்றை நன்கறிவான். ஆகவே, நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றையும் அல்லாஹ் உற்று நோக்குபவன் ஆவான்.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ {1}

 

[Yusufali 49:1] O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger; but fear Allah: for Allah is He Who hears and knows all things.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا لَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَنْ تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ {2}

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ {3}

وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِنْ بَغَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِي تَبْغِي حَتَّىٰ تَفِيءَ إِلَىٰ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ فَاءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ {9}

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ ۖ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَتُبْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ {11}

[Yusufali 49:11] O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَبْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَحِيمٌ {12}

[Yusufali 49:12] O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ {13}

[Yusufali 49:13] O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

قَالَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ آمَنَّا ۖ قُلْ لَمْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَٰكِنْ قُولُوا أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ لَا يَلِتْكُمْ مِنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ {14}

[Yusufali 49:14] The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only)say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ {15}

[Yusufali 49:15] Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

قُلْ أَتُعَلِّمُونَ اللَّهَ بِدِينِكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ {16}

[Yusufali 49:16] Say: "What! Will ye instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth: He has full knowledge of all things.

يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا ۖ قُلْ لَا تَمُنُّوا عَلَيَّ إِسْلَامَكُمْ ۖ بَلِ اللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَاكُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ {17}

[Yusufali 49:17] They impress on thee as a favour that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me: Nay, Allah has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if ye be true and sincere.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ {18}

[Yusufali 49:18] "Verily Allah knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth: and Allah Sees well all that ye do."
