Greetings! I found an interesting video that showcases Tim Thompson's
performance at the West Coast Controllerism Championship.
"Controllerism" is a movement in digital DJing that uses MIDI
controllers (either pre-manufactured or made by hand) to give the
performer more control over his or her performance, instead of just
starting a track and letting it play. The name borrows from the word
Turntablism, the catchall name for the art of vinyl record scratching,
trick mixing, beat juggling, etc. Ean Golden, the proprietor of DJ
TechTools, is said to be a leader of the Controllerism movement, but I
think that Mr. Thompson's performance shows otherwise. Please
enjoy! :-)

I think this would also be a good time to introduce myself to the
group. My name is Aaron Wirtz, and I am developing an original
electronic music show under the stage name CutterJ the Absurdist. So
far, this show includes video turntablism, electric spoons, and
vocoded tap dancing, but I've decided to journey down the path of PD
and Arduino to take this show to the next level. I'm new to any sort
of computer programming, but I'm not deterred. Please take a look at
my Youtube channel, which is a combination of tutorial and performance
videos, to get an idea of what I'm doing:

definitely open to collaboration, so hit me up!
I'm also starting my second year of the MFA in Creative Writing
program at WSU this fall, so hopefully I could meet some of you on
campus soon.
Keep creating!
Cheers,
Aaron
