Hi all,

I've developed a chrome plugin that helps to read and interact with a HAL JSON document. It supports curies and editing URI templates.
The plugin can be found here and the project is hosted here
Any feedback would be really appreciated!

Thanks,
Osvaldo Pina.

Hi all,

The plugin was updated and now it is capable of interaction to  Amundsen Hal Forms.

Thanks,
Osvaldo Pina.

Oswaldo, I installed the plugin, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything when i visit a HAL server.
Does the plugin require that the content type be 'application/hal+json' ?

While using HAL in an API definition, we found that returning application/json made it easier for client implementers (who may be scripters) to use JSON libraries if they don't have a good HAL one.

Does the plugin magically activate when it sees that media type?

It would be great if the README had a little more specifics on how to use it and what to expect.  eg:
1. install plugin
2. browse to myserver.com/api/v1
4. edit/interact by clicking x y z typing foo bar

Josh,

The plugin does not rely on media type to be activated. It parses the content of the page and checks if its content is a valid hal json document. If it is not being activated it could be a bug in the plugin or the document you are accessing is not a valid json hal. You can open a bug and paste the document so I can debug the plugin in order to find what is happening.

Thanks a lot for the feedback on installing the plugin! I will update the README to show instructions on validating the installation.
