IRC handler nickserv registration question

I'm using HAL to write a bot for a IRC channel and we recently set the channel mode to be +r which requires all users to be registered with Nickserv to join the channel.  Looking at the HAL documentation, http://hal.readthedocs.org/en/latest/adapters/irc.html, are HAL_IRC_USER and HAL_IRC_PASSWORD where I need to set the information that gets sent to Nickserv?
