Update #28 BANKRUPTCY

It’s pretty much a non-update, and just keeps stringing us along.

“ Master Replicas Group, Inc. filed a Voluntary Petition for Bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on July 23, 2020. It was necessary to take this step to restore the company’s financial position, reduce costs, and address outstanding orders for some of the company’s products. The case was filed under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy laws, and the company intends to operate normally while it reorganizes. Please expect additional updates as the reorganization proceeds.

Yep, these people are crooks. This Steve guy is making a lot of excuses for events during his tenure. I wonder who bought the new BMWs?

I feel fortunate that my credit card company refunded me a whole year after the order. I feel bad for this who lost their $1000. I guess those people paid through the indigogo site itself? I ordered the HAL from the MG site.

Good luck to all still waiting for their refunds.

You're lucky. I, unfortunately, have been along for the ride since Indiegogo. So, my CC company won't even consider covering me. On the bright side, I didn't pay full price. But, it still makes me sick to my stomach - a lot of money to just throw away.

ALL Master Replica's Hal 9000 customers should form a - Hal 9000 Master Replicas Indiego Consumer Association - as a consumer advocacy group and immediately file the association as a lead creditor in the bankruptcy for the 650K. 

This will provide anyone who pre-ordered a Hal 9000 with more rights during the bankruptcy proceedings. It will place the customers in the lead position as a creditor.

The Federal Bankruptcy Judge should be told what happened at the upcoming hearing and a request made to investigate Master Replica's and Steve Dymszo for bankruptcy fraud. Show the Judge Steve Dymszo selling off Master Replica Groups assets via his newsletter and on eBay. This is the only way there is going to be any protection for those who pre-ordered the Hal 9000 via Indiego.

Even a small amount of customers (those already here) agree to form a consumer advocacy group dedicated to attempting to protect the rights and interests of those who ordered the Hal 9000. There should be a simple website (on wordpress perhaps) with key information featured.

This does not need to be super time consuming or ardous. Just this message board alone is already making huge strides sharing information and gathering those who paid serious money for the Hal 9000.

This consumer group should be the entity that approaches a class action lawfirm and law enforcement. The law enforcement aspect is to try and get to the bottom of what actually occured. Why did Steve Dymszo and Master Replicas really do with all that money (the $650,000.00) especially when they were only trying to raise 80K inititally in the Indiego fundraiser.

Links to Attorney General Offices by state including Dymszo's home state, and those in other locales could be featured on the website. The more complaints from consumers the sooner an investigation will be lauched. $650,000 is a lot of money to have vanished. The FBI will want to see exactly where and how the money was spent. If Steve Dymszo is innocent, that will be plain to see. But the odds are he isn't innocent. As there is no way they blew through that amount of money considering how far the project had already been completed. Far enough to show a finished working prototype for the most part.

The factories in China knew what they could and could not manufacture going in. They don't take money to prototype, create a manufacturing prototype and then claim they can manufacture the item. They would be out of business.

The key will be to have at least one representative present in the bankrupcty hearing to tell the Judge the other side of the story. That anyone who pre-ordered the Hal 9000 had a stake in all of this. 

The studio Warner Bros. is going to also need to be called out so that they can apply pressure to try and protect everyone who ordered a Hal 9000. Warner's won't like that, but it needs to be done. Why weren't they listed in the bankruptcy filing as the licensing entity behind 2001? They would be entitled to their licensing royalty? Did Master Replicas Group pay Warners their % of the Indiego funds? If so Warner's should give that money back to everyone who has been ripped off. They don't need that money!
