SOE is delighted to be the Supporting Partner to the next edition of the Central Dredging Association’s (CEDA) signature series of conferences, CEDA Dredging Days 2012. Entitled Virtue, Venture and Vision in the Coastal Zone,the conference and exhibition will be held on 12-13 December, 2012 at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Traditionally, the CEDA Dredging Days’ conferences are held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This year marks the first time that the event takes place in the Middle East. This provides an excellent opportunity for professionals, scientists and practitioners involved in any kind of activity related to dredging and marine construction to participate in an exchange of knowledge and experience with like-minded experts from all over the world.
CEDAis an independent, international, technical association for the advancement of science and technology related to dredging and the construction and maintenance of water based infrastructure. Members of CEDA are corporations and individuals professionally involved in the complex product-supply chain in the mentioned and related fields and live and work in Africa, Europe or the Middle East.
CEDA Dredging Days has a long, strong tradition of being the premier technical forum for presenting and debatingnew ways of thinking, innovative approaches and the cutting-edge dredging tools and technology and to stimulate further research and development.The papers presented are peer reviewed and selected on purely technical and scientific merit.
Highlights of CEDA Dredging Days 2012
Technical presentations–drawing on local and international knowledge and experience, the topics covered dovetail with the conference theme where:
· Virtue means environmental awareness and concern
· Venture is commercial coastal development benefitting the local and regional economy and
· Vision is long term planning creating a sustainable future and for aesthetic reasons.
Spread over a day and a half, and over five technical sessions, the presentations will focus on dredging activities for the offshore oil and gas industry and dredging for infrastructure and trade development.In addition the academic /technical development session will present some of the latest research in the field.To view the full programme please clickhere.
Technical exhibition– to complement the programme of presentations, this small exhibition will take place in in the area adjacent to the technicalsession room. Conference delegates will be able to observe demonstrations of the latest products and services of local and international companies and have in depth discussions with the experts in the know. Technical visit–participants will have a guided boat tour to view some of the recently finished local projects. A group of 20 people will have the opportunity to see these projects from the air.

Registration and fees
The registration fee for members of CEDA is Euro 525; for non-members the fee is Euro 695. Members of SOE enjoy the CEDA member discount i.e. they can register at Euro 525.
