Thanks for your interest in helping out with the HaitianStories.org
website. I'm cc'ing Kyle and Deborah who are also working on
HaitianStories at CrisisCamp Chicago today, so you should coordinate
with them to make sure you aren't working on the same thing. Perhaps
we could meet in the #haitianstories IRC channel on irc.rhok.net. Or
if you aren't familiar with IRC, we could start a Skype conference
call instead with all the folks working on it today. My skype un is
"nateaune".
We can also coordinate via the HaitianStories google group mailing
list. You can subscribe here:
http://groups.google.com/group/haitian-stories/
So here are the tasks that we could use some help on:
0) We need a logo, perhaps something incorporating the Haitian flag,
but that's just a suggestion.
1) home page look and feel
2) add new story page (make this form easier and more intuitive to
fill out: http://haitianstories.org/add/text/)
3) contributor page (ex: http://haitianstories.org/story/2/) - make a
page that highlights the contributor with photo and biographical info)
4) search form (improve the usability of the search form)
5) translate the site into Creole French, if you have any Creole
speaking persons who can help out with this, or use the
auto-translator available from Microsoft.
http://www.microsofttranslator.com/
If you can just try posting to the site and report any bugs or
improvements that you think can be made, that would be helpful. If you
have design or usability experts on your team, they could create
mockups or better yet, HTML with CSS that we can plug into the
templates
thanks!

I made a list of tasks (technical, non-technical and
promotional/marketing) under the implementation plan section on the
CrisisCommons wiki:
http://wiki.crisiscommons.org/wiki/HaitianStories#Task_Breakdown_.2F_Backlog.2C_and_Priorities
Please put your name next to the task that you would like to work on,
so we can keep track of who is working on what. Eventually, we'll get
the technical tasks into an issue tracking program like Github, but
for now, we'll use the wiki.
Also, I sent Kyle, Sarah and Jose an invitation to join the
HaitianStories google group at
http://groups.google.com/group/haitian-stories
Please join this list so that we can keep each other informed about the project.
Thanks to everyone for helping out with HaitianStories!
Nate
There are a bunch of tasks outlined here:

Please let me know what you would like to help out on.
thanks,
Nate

Thanks for the task list. I'll share this through my networks to see where we net out over the next few days.
Personally I'll be focusing on the non-tech and promotion tasks.
Nate could we get access to the Haitian Stories google analytics? Love to measure the impact of our efforts and report this back to the community -
Thanks!
