With part of 2011 complete we can report progress in some of the HOM
projects.

Schools. Enrollment of new classes for next school year has begun. We are
enrolling students at the Cite Soleil, Blanchard and Repatriote schools (Ibo
Beach takes care of its own enrollment process).

Team visits. We have been blessed with a steady number of teams coming down
for short term missions. They are doing construction prep work at
Repatriote, building houses, running medical clinics at various sites, and
other odds and ends. If you wish to send a team down, please contact
Stephen Carlton at haitiout...@gmail.com. We are actively making
arrangements for Fall 2011 teams and recommend beginning now to plan for
2012.

Leon, Luc and Profaite visits to churches in the US and Canada. We are
working on schedules now for the rest of 2011. If you are interested in one
of the Haitian pastors visiting your church (each is fluent in English and
can speak/preach well), please let us know.

Cite Soleil clinic. The roof of the new clinic has been poured. This
completes the heavy labor part of the project and we are now into septic,
plumbing, wiring, and any stucco that may be needed.

Repatriote church and school. We are preparing the site and expect to start
serious construction next month. Our goal remains to have the first module
of the school built and ready for classes in September.

Repatriote security wall. This is making slow progress. We will resume
serious work on it in April, with the goal of having it complete by the time
the school opens.

Cite Soleil food storage depot. Thanks to a grant, we have begun work on
this. We are prayerfully hopeful that funds will be sufficient to allow
near term completion - and support receiving and distributing more food for
the communities.

Houses. We continue to build homes at a somewhat reduced rate (to extend
the life of the project). We have not received many funds for this effort
and will need to suspend it, most likely after April. Please prayerfully
consider this project if you wish to help Haitian families directly. Our
estimate is that by the end of April there will have been over 125 homes
built in this program -each one permanently moving a Haitian family from
temporary shelter to a good, permanent home.

Vocational program, water filters and gift shop. We are planning to resume
the water filter program in April. This will manufacture biosand filters,
placing one in each home built in the house program. The vocational program
is moving along, with the retail shop now inside the Blanchard compound,
enlarged and better outfitted. We expect to include Haitian made jewelry
and cards, along with the sewing products and Haitian crafts. When your
team comes, please consider patronizing the shop - each purchase provides
income for Haitians. Remember that the sewing program can make anything you
would like - just order it at the beginning of the week (check out the
article in the current newsletter on the website).

Shalom - Bill G
