Although Caribbean people have not developed a distinct theological perspective comparable to Asian, Latin, and African theologies, there are several indications that they also share many of the concerns for liberation as found among other Third World peoples. When Third World people become Christians, Europeans and North Americans whites must convince them that they are the only people who know what Christianity means. Whatever the oppressed attempt to do, the oppressors must convince the victims that they need their help.
