Haiti Family Initiative Seeks Volunteers

The Haiti Family Initiative, a Delaware organization to help families in Jacmel, Haiti overcome the trauma of the earthquake, seeks health care volunteers in July and August for a medical clinic and wellness programs.

Christiana Care employees can take up to two weeks of Administrative Leave annually if they have not done so already, pending approval of their managers. Otherwise, they can take personal time.

Health care workers, mental health professionals and camp counselors are needed for one week or more from July 5 to Aug. 9 to staff an outpatient health clinic to address the medical needs of children and their families. The clinic is located next to a children's summer camp set up by the Haiti Family Initiative.

Volunteers are also needed to work with children and women in the day camp and in women's education and support groups. Spaces are limited and must be reserved.
