We need to get busy discussing the Curriculum.

Hi Carlos
Is there any way that we can get copies of and build off the current
Haitian curricula - I think it would be better and easier to help
rebuild if we start from where they were before the earthquake, and
where they were planning to go...

I'm confused. Why would the physical destruction of Haitian educational
facilities by an earthquake require their curricula to be rewritten,
especially by outsiders?

I mean, are you talking about taking something that's only available in
hard copy and digitizing it, or are you all talking about something more
than that?

Related to this, I would find it useful to have some background on the current higher education system in Haiti. How many institutions, what kind, how were they organized, funded etc.

Mark.

Folks, this is quite broad scope. What are we targeting? Primary
School, K-12? Should we deal only with the core subjects (i.e.
Mathematics, Science, Language)?

Lance

I was responding to the original question about thinking abt curricula - I think that haiti already has curricula, and that's what should form the basis of whatever assistance, courses, materials etc that we might provide, not to develop anything new re curricula.
