I would like to inform you of two proposed legislations (bills)
introduced in the United States Congress. These proposed legislations
allow people in Haiti whose visas were approved before January 12,
2010 to be allowed to complete the process in the United States. The
bill, H.R. 4616 and the Senate version S.2998 were introduced on
February 5, 2010 by Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and on February 4,
2010 by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, respectively.
As concerned Haitian Americans it is incumbent upon us to make sure
that the bills H.R. 4616 and S.2998 pass in the House of
Representatives and the Senate. Please call, fax, and e-mail your
representatives and senators to inform them of your support for this
