Please read. Sabina would like to know where are the health care
locations in Haiti and also how they can work with the Diaspora. I
have asked Nicole Cesar for the Fonkoze mapping of health care
facilities. I don't have all the Diaspora ones but I do have some logs
in the database.
Let me know what you think and if you would like to set up a call with
Sabina's team.

I hope all is well - and hope we can work together on the following:

2..And as for the description of what I spoke to you about over the
phone, I haven't gotten more details but the basics are as follows:
The US Coast Guard understands the extent of the gap between aid and
delivery, and apparently has access to a lot of medical supplies but
needs help finding the best places to deliver it
First, we need an assessment and inventory of all currently operating
health clinics/ medical centers/ hospitals/ field hospitals (basically
anyone delivering medical assistance), find out where they are
located, how many health professionals are there, how many patients
are coming in, what kinds of conditions are they treating, what kind
of medical supplies do they need, etc. The coordinator is currently
All this information will be located on a central site and database
which is being set up as we speak. The US Coast Guard will then use
that information to direct their response.
We are relatively confident that T-Mobile will donate phones for us to
create a call center, perhaps here in Boston or perhaps elsewhere as
well, and have Haitian volunteers here in the Diaspora get in direct
contact with these centers to confirm the timely delivery of aid, keep
up to date with the changing needs, etc.
3. Now, please do not spread this information too widely yet as it is
still a work in progress and I do not want to raise expectations on
the ground until we have it operationalized - but please do share it
with the Ministry and assorted others on the call tonight and gather
their feedback.
4. Could you set up a call tomorrow between you, the Minister of
Haitians Living Abroad, myself, and any other contacts you think would
be useful for this? I am free any time at all before 6 pm.
5.If you can send me that information on the maps you have made of the
health centers already as SOON as possible it will be so helpful!
