So it was proposed at the dinner party that the next pinup be a movie viewing party featuring movies filmed in the great city of Chicago. I can host and provide Chain Reaction, a flawless movie featuring Hyde Park and a Field Museum/MSI hybrid. If other people in a more central location (as in not Hyde Park which is where I am) would like to host I can still provide Chain Reaction. Otherwise, here is a doodle for picking a day and also for gauging if people are actually interested in the idea, I just put in the weekends of the 10th and 17th but if there are other, better date ideas I can add those too.

I'm in! I also would be happy to host, but I am not exactly central (Lincoln Square/Brown Line). Anyways, I own Road to Perdition, but Primal Fear would also be a good one to watch (though I do not own it). I guess we can't watch a ton of movies or that would be a really long pinup, so I am down for whatever movie is chosen.

This is a great idea! Favorite Chicago movies: The Blues Brothers (I think I have a copy), High Fidelity, My Best Friend's Wedding, Candyman (a little too scary maybe), Only the Lonely, and Poltergeist III (it's hilarious! really!). That's not even getting into the entire other genre of movies about the Chicago suburbs (Bueller?).

I own Primal Fear! I am probably not the best to host, though, as I'm up in Edgewater.

I don't think I have any Chicago films to offer, but I'm usually good for showing up with cookies. And beer. Or wine.

Guys, are we doing this? I can't host (tiny apt with no TV) but I volunteer to rent the movies!

Yes, I hope we are! (Putting forth another offer to host--I'm in west Wicker Park close to the Damen blue line).

Well it looks like Saturday the 17th is overall the best for people, we can start maybe around 3? I can still host and I have a DVD player and a VCR so I can play multiple formats of movie- everyone can bring whatever relevant movies that they have and we can decide at the party which ones to watch. Also I can provide beer and snacks but if other people also want to bring beer and snacks that would be good. I'll post in the facebook group as well so you can respond here or message me on facebook and I'll send you my address.

Man, I can't make it that day. But it seems like we have plenty of Chicago movies to choose from, so maybe we can do another in December or January?

I wouldn't be against switching to Sunday- there's only a one person difference in availability. I also wouldn't be against just doing it in December instead because no one is replying. Or both! Tell me what you want, everyone.

Sorry to hijack this but does anyone want to get a drink and a bite to eat between 6-7 in the Loop today? I just realized I have to blow an hour downtown before a show. Thanks!

I can probably do Sunday if it is definitely switching to Sunday. Is there anyone on the northside (I'm in Lincoln Square) who wants a ride? I don't like driving places I don't know by myself - it makes me really nervous. So, I'd love company on the long trip to Hyde Park.

ok given that more people that actually responded are available on Sunday it's officially on Sunday now. I'll email people where I live, if anyone responds between now and Sunday I'll email you my address too.
