What about exporting the calendar from the class and sending it to the desired parents? They could see assignments and due dates, but that would be about it.

Ex. to 9th and 10th grade parents, but not 10th and 11th. Also, we want parents to be able to see assignments, but not always the rest of the site; therefore, giving them access to an assignment page only vs. the course site would be great. Any ideas are appreciated!

Hi Bruce,

Other ways come to mind, but the calendar does seems like your best option. Especially since the class calendar can be exported to Google calendars and assignment due dates show on calendar.

Other ways in case you want to compare anyway...  (I often do, just to verify really using the best way.)

Have you looked at shadowing (edit user > permissions tab)? I'm not sure it would work like you want, because I think they could see all class material.

We do what you asked to do so only certain sections see certain pages by using Manage Page> Page Settings . But the parents would need regular Haiku ids and all be put in the same section.
