Dear colleagues,

This is a gentle reminder that the deadline for Work in Progress and Demo submissions is approaching (June 26, 2022).

Acceptance notifications will be sent on June 30, 2022.

For the Work in Progress initiative we encourage submissions from “newcomers” such as master students or early-stage PhD Students e.g. whose supervisor is not part of the HAID discourse, especially from underrepresented groups.

At the time of submission, authors will be asked to indicate whether they want to be paired with an experienced HAID researcher during the conference (on site or online) to help develop the work-in-progress into a co-authored future HAID submission.

Demo submissions can be either standalone or associated with a paper or work in progress submission.

HAID 2022 particularly welcomes contributions, both theoretical and empirical, in the following areas:

Design of audio and haptic feedback for health & well-being
    Musical haptics & augmented instruments

Contributions in the following areas are also welcome:

    Novel haptic and auditory interfaces
Perception & evaluation of multimodal and cross-sensory interactions
Design principles for haptic and auditory interfaces
Design of audio and haptic feedback for entertainment and creative applications
Affective and semiotic roles of haptics and audio in interaction
Leveraging auditory-tactile correspondences in interaction design

HAID 2022 will be held during August 24–26, 2022 at Queen Mary University of London (UK), and will be a hybrid event with in-person activities and online streaming sessions.

It is organised by the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM) in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Robotics @ Queen Mary (ARQ), and it is supported by the IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics, EuroHaptics Society, Audio Engineering Society (AES), and Springer.
