A few members have donated a significant number of hours to clean up
and weed around the front gate and maintenance shed. We should all
thank them when you see them working...and please keep in mind that
even in the best of circumstances, only a relatively small percentage
of members can and will do volunteer work on a regular basis.
Volunteerism cannot substitute for an assessment increase.....keep your
ears open for outside public perception of what's happening in The
Hills....
Also, noticed that the mail list information sheet remains posted in
the post office.....old habits die hard, and history suggests that
members in supervisory positions (trustees and standing committee
members) through the years have long been concerned about how
"unofficial" statements or publications (printed or otherwise)might be
perceived. That's part of what comes with the territory when one joins
any private club or organization. The guess here is that for most
folks who become HAH members, it takes a great deal of time before they
fully understand what they've bought into in The Hills...

The HAH Member doing a lot of the work ... just check-out the front
maintenance area... for example...is Vic Kapcsos #943.... He went to Jim
Palmer.... offered to clean some things up that Jin has not been able to get
done... Looks great....I'm working on cleaning-up the Lake Ski area... (Look
at the HAH map...little Lake Ski (or Ski Lake)... is back behind the tennis
courts & new pool.... There used to be a Ski-trail...(yep...snow ski-ing...)
down there.... At the bottom is a small pond/lake (Ski Lake)... and about 30
years of rusting... old... non-working for decades...snow making
equipment... looks awful... dangerous looking...Used to have high-tension
electic as well... no off... You wouldn't want your kids to play down
there... I want to pull out the old equipment... re-cut the walking trail...
(great place to walk...walk the dog... kids play etc...)...and fish too...
!!!!... the spill-way for the retaining dam needs to be repaired.... the
spill-way is eroded and allows the water to spill out... keeping the lake
waaay low.... could be repaired.... It's not as much money...it's about
caring. Let me know if anyone is interested in donating some time and
brain-power... to work on this.I would like to complete in 2007. We got 30
guys or so togherer a couple of years ago... This time we need a little more
organization and some heavier equipment to get the old stuff out and fix the
spill way... cut the trail... Would be an instant "gem"...over-nite... Just
adds more value to our HAH... let me know...thanx...Patrick Foy 569-9353...
