Hello team,

Following the recent email from Uta to say that things aren't working
so well I think it is time to start planning phase 2 of this project.
I won't go into any details right now suffice to say that we have two
more interested people who are both based at IWES in Kassel. These two
people are:

Felix Choo - Felix was in my EUREC specialisation class in Kassel. I
think most of you at least know of him.

Alison Brown - Alison hails from the States and is currently doing her
masters at IWES and is part of the Transatlantic Renewable Energy
Fellowship (http://www.cdsintl.org/fellowshipsabroad/tref.php). She
has done quite a bit of solar PV installation work in Boulder,
Colorado and would bring some much needed experience in wiring and
distribution boards to the group. You can read more about her here:

http://renewableadvocates.wordpress.com/about/

Felix and Alison, below is the URL to the Google group I created after
the first visit last year:

Check it out and let me know what you think. If you are keen to be
part of the phase 2 then let me know and I will invite you to join.

Cheerio

One of the things I would like to insist needs overhaul is the DC distribution board : it is currently only a patchwork of cables connected using boxes. It needs to be replaced with a proper distribution board :
  • encased in a box
  • each component having its own DC switch (battery, charge controler, inverter)
That would require having a layout with some kind of 'rails' for the phase, the neutral and the earth.

The earth connection to the AC part of the installation also needs 'correction'.

We normally listed all the things that must be done in the doc, haven't we ?
