Apologies for the silence from my side. A lot has happened to me since
the last email.
1. Job
I now have a job at Fraunhofer IWES (formerly ISET) in Kassel. This
means I'm heading for a PhD so I will be in Kassel for at least the
next 3 years. Good news regarding continuity with the Häusleberg
Project.
2. Holiday
Despite this good news, my family and I are in desperate need of a
holiday and to see our families again. We are planning a trip back to
South Africa (yes I'm ashamed about the carbon emissions) from about
10 March - 12 April 2010. As we still have a bunch of stuff to sort
out before we go (like visa extensions) I won't be able to do much, if
anything, with regards planning. Before I go I will try to put
together a list of things which need to be done and maybe some of the
others in the group can begin to take responsibility for some aspects
thereof. I presume we should be able to pull something together for a
trip by June/July. But whatever happens there DEFINITELY will be a
trip to Häusleberg in 2010.
[Oda]
but i can get you a car for you from Witzenhausen for a few days to
travel down and back up if that is any help for you. not all the time
but most of the time it is available to you(not available: 05.03-22.03
and 28.03.-04.03) i think that would be the best way to get at least 4
people to oberried (it´s a pink renault twingo;-).
[Roy]
This is SUPERB news Oda! This was one of the biggest hurdles I could see.
[Oda]
the problem ist now that when my boyfriend is not with you when you
are down you cannot have his father´s tools (hes very fussy about
them) but we will try to clean up the workshop an make you a list of
what´s there.
[Roy]
I fully understand your boyfriend's father being fussy about his
tools. I'm a bit like that too. I presume your boyfriend is only in
Oberried when you are? Any idea when you/he will be down there during
the June/July period? Having a list of available tools at Häusleberg
would be super too. The less we have to bring with the better.
[Oda]
i´ll try to get my mum in the googlegroup so she get´s all the mails too
[Roy]
Hmmm I'm not sure whether this would be a good idea. The number of
emails is bound to explode as we get into the planning phase. I'm sure
she doesn't really want to know much about distribution board designs.
Better that we just send her crucial emails when her input is really
required.
Till next time then,
Roy
