Umar himself never performed Tarawih

Come the month of Ramazan and we see a section of Muslims spending their late evenings attending Tarawih prayers.  Even those who do not pay heed to the daily obligatory prayers and miss is throughout the year, are found attending Tarawih.

 

But the reality is that Tarawih is nothing but a Bidát.  And the funny part is the innovator of this Bidát Umar b. Khattab himself never performed it.
