In Islam "Majority does not always Win"

Dear readers,

Salaamun Alaikum,

Back when we were young, there was a very simple but kiddish way of establishing who was right. Kids would call out "Majority Wins!" and whichever group showed a particular signal and was in majority would win.

Some Muslims, who consider religion and caliphate to be childs play, have tried to apply this kiddish rule to Islam.

They claim that because they are in majority, guidance is their birth right and they consider their majority as proof of being on the right side in the debate on caliphate.

They view Shias as deviated because Shias are in a minority and by default misguided.

But is it so? Does majority hold any value in Islam?
