I've just raised this issue to do with the mailing-list and adding
people to the list in the admin section:

http://code.google.com/p/haddock-cms/issues/detail?id=66

Part of me says that this functionality is useless because the whole
idea of a mailing list is that it is something that individuals should
sign up to.

Does anyone have any experience of adding people through the admin
section?

One possible enhancement could be to be able to add a lot of people to
the mailing-list in one go. An admin could cut -and-paste a CC list
from an email (e.g. "Pierre Bezukhov" <pie...@bezuhov.ru>, "Andrei
Bolkonsky" <and...@bolkonsky.ru ...) and add it via a text box.

Of course, any people added via the admin section would need to have
their status set to "Accepted" from the start.

Yeah, like the guest book plugin, there's no need to be able to add
individuals from the back end.

I have wanted to be able to add 'all the people who have left comments
in the guest book' to the mailing list, and similar.

It would be useful if there were simple export/import pages on both
plugins maybe.
