May Show
Jordan Taylor

Opening Reception for the next show will be held on Last Friday, May 28th.

Jordan Taylor’s pottery will be on exhibit from May 26th to June 18th. Jordan will exhibit a series of clay bowls created from clay of his backyard.
Taylor comments, “I am interested a radically direct art. I seek to reduce my role as mediator between a viewer and their surroundings. In my work I seek to acknowledge how fleeting the present moment is by emphasizing the gravity of how an object came to exist as you see it before you now, and what role it will fulfill after its useful like is over.

My work is overwhelmingly past and future; its present form is its fleeting and least useful state.”

Office & Gallery hours are:
Tuesday through Friday 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm
Saturday 11:00 am till 4:00 pm.

FRANK
The Franklin Street Arts Collective celebrated its new gallery ,Frank in April. FRANK will provide a centrally located venue for area artists in the heart of Chapel Hill’s already lively Franklin Street.

FRANK was founded by local artists working with Town of Chapel Hill agencies, according to Barbara Rich, gallery director. She said the gallery has been made possible through the efforts of more than 70 artists working with the support of town government, Orange County arts and tourism directors, economic development officials and patrons of the arts. FRANK’s founders and local officials envision FRANK as a cooperative that will strengthen Chapel Hill’s creative community while also boosting downtown commerce, she said.

FRANK is open from 11 am – 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 11 am – 8 pm on Thursdays. Sunday hours are from 1 pm – 5 pm.
